Certified Teacher:

Position Summary

Responsible for developing and executing educational programs/activities designed to encourage social, physical, and intellectual development of children. The employee is responsible for the day-to-day work and management of the classroom, as well as, the safety and welfare of the pupils, during on-site and off-site activities. The duties listed below illustrate of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements regarding duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment in association with this position.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science with studies in Early Childhood Development , Social Science or related field. Three

(3)   years' experience  of related outreach/casemanagement  experience; social work  and/or  public housing.            Any combination of experience, educat ion or training that would likely provide the required knowledge is qualifying.

 

Must obtain forty (40) hours of training each year.  Some training may be required or recommended by the Executive Director.

 

The following Certifications must be obtained within one (1) year of employment or other allowable period of hire as authorized by the Executive Director:

   Professional Teachers  Certification that meets the GeorgiaProfessional Standard Commission (GaPSC) requirements.
